Good Bye 2008!

As 2008 is coming to an end I would like to take time to reflect on the absolute best year of my life so far. In January I turned 27 (OMG 3 more years to 30!). In Feburary we were blessed with the birth of our son, Jase. He has truely brought meaning and joy to my life. I love him so much more that I ever imagined I could love anyone. I could talk forever about every little thing he does and how he constantly brightens my day. June brought a second grandson for my Mom. Precious little Camden was born and changed my sisters life in exactly the same way as Jase did mine. Just a short month later we were blessed by little Miss Miley. She is the latest addition to my wonderful gang of cousins. Next week we will be able to celebrate Christmas with our family and watch as Jase, Camden and Miley enjoy their first Christmas! Hopefully this will bring some much needed fun and entertainment back to our holiday celebrations. 2009 is right around the corner and the countdown to 30 continues! My wish for all of you is to stay healthy, happy, and realize all the blessings life gives us everyday.
Tomorrow is a new day, 2009 is a new year, and I have every reason to think we can make it a great one! (Look out - three 1st birthdays ahead.)

Rockin' into the night!

Is this normal for a 10 month old to play the guitar? Is it his destiny to be musically talented? He had a real drum set bought for him before he was even born. He jammed in my belly to Carrie Underwood. He sang to Zeppelin when he was a few months old. Most recently, I bought Miley a xylophone for Christmas and Jase insisted that he keep it. (Note to self - buy Miley new gift.) I have a feeling that he will get even more musical instruments for Christmas. It will be exciting to see if he will turn out to be the next Elvis or Joe Walsh or Robert Plant. (For the non-music people (Ashley) Joe Walsh plays with the Eagles and Robert Plant with Led Zeppelin.

WInter Wonderland???

So the forecast is calling for winter precipitation early next week. I can only hope that we do not have yet another ice storm. The past two years have brought enough ice and misery for my lifetime. Anyway, we had a few snowflakes a couple weeks ago and Jase got to go out and play. He looked so adorable in his Carharts but I think he may have eaten too much snow!!! Brain Freeze!

Count down to Christmas!

So I am totally addicted to shopping for toys!!! I can't help but to head strait to the toy section at any store I go to. I also look for the Toys R Us ad in the paper first thing. The other day I went to K-mart on my lunch break for no particular reason. I walked out with SIX toys! I really want Jase to have a great first Christmas, even though he won't remember it. But, I am going to go broke if Christmas does not hurry up and get here.

How can I not want to buy everything for my precious little boy? You can see how irresistable he is, right???

Neiman-Marcus is selling this recipe for $250. Seems like someone should get their money's worth out of it!


NEIMAN-MARCUS COOKIES
(Recipe may be halved)
2 cups butter
24 oz. Chocolate chips
4 cups flour
2 cups brown sugar
2 tsp. Soda
1 tsp. Salt
2 cups sugar
1 8 oz. Hershey Bar (grated)
5 cups blended oatmeal
4 eggs
2 tsp. Baking powder
2 tsp. Vanilla
3 cups chopped nuts (your choice)
Measure oatmeal, and blend in a blender to a fine powder. Cream the butter and both sugars. Add eggs and vanilla, mix together with flour, oatmeal, salt, baking powder, and soda . Add chocolate chips, Hershey bar, and nuts. Roll into balls, and place two inches apart on a cookie Sheet. Bake for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
Makes 112 cookies.

TWINS???

Do you think Jase & Camden could be siblings???

Last weekend when Ashley was visiting, we all went to the mall and she had both boys and someone asked if they were twins. Camden is 4 months younger than Jase but only weighs 2 pounds less and is about 2 inches shorter than Jase. They are so stinking similar, it's scary.
Obviously, they are the two cutest boys in the world!!!

Breaking News!

Jase has his top two teeth! Guess he's gonna have to wish for something else for Christmas. Maybe like Brad Pitt to be his real Daddy! Did anybody watch Oprah yesterday? He is the perfect man and father and partner. I hope Jasey grows up to be a good man!
Jase has become quite the little talker lately. His latest saying is "Dad Dumb". I am so proud! He also says ball, bye, hi, yea, bottle, more, dog, dad home, bye bye dad. I think he is the smartest 9 month old ever!!!
He has been practicing his Indian sounds for Thanksgiving. I'm tempted to paint his face and make a vest out of a brown paper bag for him.

In other news...
I would like to share my theory on how to make the world a better place."When I become president, I will make it a law that before you get out of bed everyday, you have to take a stupidity test. If the test shows thatyou are indeed stupid, you can not get out of bed that day. You can try again the next day. Eventually all the stupid people will die off leaving the world a better place."

First Steps!

Jase will soon be walking. He took his first steps last week at the babysitters house. He has taken a few for Mom & Dad. I predict that by Thanksgiving he will be walking around chewing on a turkey leg!

The bruises on Jase's forehead prove that he is a curious & wild little boy!

As soon as I can get a video of him walking, I will post it for everyone.

This will be a fun week for us. Thursday is the Eagles concert and Jase gets to stay with his buddy Kristin! (He loves her!) Then this weekend Aunt Ashy, Cousin Camden, and Grandma Kay are coming to visit! I can't wait for them to see how fun and big Jase is getting!

9 Months Old!

Jase is 9 months old! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. I was looking at pictures from the hospital and it amazes me how much he has grown! He has brought so much joy and love to my life! I never imagined how wonderful he could be. He has built up quite a little vocabulary. He says words like, mom, dad, dog, hot, out, yeah, hi, and na-na (night night). He claps and dances, gets into EVERYTHING, he stands alone, and he even took his first steps yesterday at the babysitters! He has also started crying for Mom when I drop him of at Brenda's in the mornings. It breaks my heart and I drive to work crying. :( He also loves to eat whatever is on Mom's or Dad's plate. It doesn't matter if he already ate his dinner, he still wants ours. He is obsessed with Bailey and Bailey's food and water bowls. I think the Halloween costume might have confused him. He constantly crawls to the dog's food bowl and gets a handful of food or water and sticks it in his mouth. He laughs at us when we say "no". He has also become a little sneaky about it and he will crawl behind the couch and wait until he thinks we are gone then he comes out and charges the forbidden dog food. He's a mess! Bath time has become a fun adventure every night too. Jase likes to try and catch the water coming out of the faucet and then he likes to crawl around in the water and lay on his belly and kick his legs.

First Halloween!

Jase was a puppy dog for his first Halloween. I guess it's pretty obvious that he was the cutest puppy ever! He went trick or treating at his Grandma's and Grandpa's house. He was exhausted by the end of the night from all the attention he got.

Road Trip!

This weekend we are going to visit Camden and Miley! We haven't seen Camden in over a month and it's been even longer since we've seen the rest of the family. It is gonna be a weekend full of fun! Friday we are gonna bake Halloween cupcakes, buy pumpkins, and spend time playing with Tyler, Mia, Miley, and Camden. Saturday we are gonna get dressed up and go to a wedding. The boys both have the cutest suits to wear. Next up is the reception were we get to dance and eat and visit with friends and family. Jase is ready to shake what his momma gave him. It should be an exciting day and night. Woo-hoo! I will have lots of pictures to share when we get back.

Our first zoo trip!

Camden and Jase went to the zoo for the first time on Saturday. We thought we were going to get rained out, but the weather held off and we all piled in the mini van to go to the zoo. The boys had so much fun! They had the biggest smiles on their faces. (And Josh said they wouldn't have fun.) Jase's favorite part was at the petting area. The donkeys and billy goats licked his hands and nibbled his feet. He giggled and we laughed. The goats ate food out of Camden's stroller. That was super cute too! I can't believe we were blessed with the cutest and most fun baby boys ever! I can't wait until they get to live closer to each other so they can do adventurous things together all the time!
